Lake Front Trex Deck and EZE Breeze Porch

This client, on Lake Wylie in Belmont, NC, had an existing deck that was in serious need of replacement. The amount of mushrooms and fungus that was growing between the rotten deck boards, as well as the 6” drop at front girder was very alarming. After removing the underdeck system and exposing massive amounts of wood rot, it was obvious to the crew at Deckscapes that this project needed a full replacement. After installing a new pressure treated floor frame, along with new joist tape, we began the process of installing the new decking. Our client has chosen the Trex Lineage decking in the Hatteras color, which looked amazing against his house siding color. We installed new landings and stairs as well and wrapped it all with the Trex Hatteras 1x12 fascia. The railing we installed on the deck, porch, landing and stairs was the Trex Signature railing in Black color. To help add some evening ambiance and safety, we installed a Trex lighting system that included LED rail wedge lights and round LED stair riser lights which all tied into the Trex transformer and timer. For the porch we installed new 6” laminated columns and a new tongue and groove 6” wood ceiling as well as 4 new LED recessed can lights and a new ceiling fan. Everything was painted to match the exterior house trim. We installed new black framed EZE Breeze vertical 4 track porch windows and 2 Larson Full View storm doors also in black. The underside of the deck, porch, and stairs were stained using a dark Sherwin Williams color to help disguise the light colored framing from eyesight and 4 waterproof ceiling fans were installed as well to keep the living space below the deck and porch cool on hot days. It all turned out beautiful and our client loves it.
