Deckscapes built this project just off of the golf course in Ballantyne Country Club. The challenge that we faced was to remove a very large, boring deck and transform their backyard to compliment the existing pool. Deckscapes started by first building the screened porch and deck area. We used Trex Transcend Decking in the Spiced Rum color for the floors. The rails are also Trex Transcends with white 6x6 columns, white rails and a Spiced Rum top cap. The deck, porch and stairs are all accented with white Trex trim boards to match the railing. Trex low voltage lights were added for accent lighting on the stair risers and the post sleeves. That completed the grilling and sun deck area. The screened porch was built with a flat roof (with a very slight pitch) and we added some modified Trex Transcends railing above the roofline to give the impression of a deck above the porch to match the deck rails. The porch walls are Cox 6x6 hollow laminated columns with matching Trex railing. After the porch was painted with Sherwin Williams exterior paint we then added EZE Breeze porch windows to the exterior to allow the homeowners the ability to keep an open air feel or close the windows up to keep the room warm or keep dreaded pollen out. The porch ceiling was designed with the homeowners to create an amazing coffered ceiling look with two different Sherwin Williams paints. That ceiling really stands out and is the first thing you notice when you first walk into the room. Two ceiling fans and 6 recessed can lights complete the look above. We also added a flat screen TV along the back wall for a very relaxed feel. Below the deck and porch we were faced with the challenge of what to do with such a large covered space. We removed a very old, thick concrete patio and added approx. 700 square feet of Belgard pavers and had them blend in with the existing walkway for a smooth transition from the upper areas to the lower. We completed the project by adding river rock along the pavers and grass to help with a drainage problem that existed. Whether sitting in the comfortable screen porch with a glass of wine, hanging out on the deck with a cigar and friends, or escaping from the sun down below on the paver patio, Deckscapes always does our absolute best to help you Enjoy Being Outside.
This backyard Ballantyne project built by Deckscapes in 2017 really showcased the working relationship between the us and our homeowners. Every detail was carefully considered and discussed in order to arrive at the finish line together. The first challenge in building the screened porch was to raise the 3 upper great room windows. This involved opening up the entire side of the house to demo and reframe the walls while keeping dust and construction debris to a minimum so the homeowners could continue using their interior living space. Challenging, but that's what we love at Deckscapes. Once the exterior wall was modified and new windows were installed, we could begin construction on the screened porch. The roof was a gable design which tied in just below the new windows. The floor was set up for tile which resembled large wood planking. The walls were 6x6 Cox laminated columns and finished off with EZE Breeze vertical 4 Track window units in the Beige color. The front of the outer gable has a small round window to allow some light in and cedar shake siding around it. The ceiling was set up for 1x6 v groove panels with large, hand distressed beams to give a very rustic feel in this very polished living space. The walls and ceiling were then coated using a beautiful combination of Sherwin Williams paints and stains. The original direct vent fireplace gave way to a new vent free Majestic unit with a new marble surround on the inside and natural stone exterior inside the porch. We also added 2 new Pella French doors to either side of the fireplace along with Emtek rubbed bronze hardware. The lighting was finished off with recessed can lights and a stunning chandelier as the room focal point. The exterior deck was designed with Trex Transcends decking in the Spiced Rum color and finished off with a Spiced Rum border and matching fascia. It keeps a very open feel as you look out onto the elegant Travertine patio and new pool. I'll say it again, I love working with our homeowners. They provide us with their ideas and designs and we work hand in hand to deliver them their outdoor dreams. We at Deckscapes make it a priority to ensure you Enjoy Being Outside.

This a beautiful screened porch that we built in Fort Mill, SC in the Springfield neighborhood. We started by extending the concrete floor out and pouring a large footing for the large wood burning fireplace. From there we built the screened porch and then the fireplace followed. The porch uses an aluminum screen track system with a darker screen for added privacy. To finish off the ceiling we used a beaded pine board with a matching pine trim and sealed it with a Sherwin Williams semi transparent wood stain. The fireplace was veneered with natural stone, hearth and mantle along with a large wood storage outside of the fireplace. Afterwards we built large paver patio with rounded edges and a step off into the yard. This project turned out to be very fun to build and very functional for the entire family. We always want you to Enjoy Being Outside.
This screened porch with EZE Breeze windows, tile floor, and relaxing hot tub was built in the Denver, NC area. The porch has EZE Breeze windows with clear vinyl on the front and side walls but we added a darker vinyl at the hot tub wall to add more privacy for the homeowner during the daylight hours. The large floor tiles in a subway pattern add beauty to the room while making wet floors easy to clean up. The same tile was added to the step around the hot tub for a smooth transition out of the tub. The real beauty of this room is in the ceiling. It is a a tongue and groove knotty pine with a Sherwin Williams cedar stain to make the client feel like they are at a lodge in the mountains. They added the metal artwork above the door to keep the lodge feel. The versatility of the EZE Breeze windows add so much to this outdoor living space. Open the windows all the way to allow the breezes to blow in or close them up to stop pollen from entering the room. The Larson screen door has an extra large dog door for so their four legged babies can come and go as they please. There is a small Belgard paver patio outside of the covered entrance to this room. While we were working on this project the homeowner asked us to redesign their fireplace inside their living room. We added natural stone and a large cedar mantle to keep that mountain lodge feel. This outdoor living space was designed with the homeowners input to allow them to relax in their hot tub, entertain guests or just enjoy a cup of coffee with their dogs resting on the tile floor. We are very proud of this project and as always, we want you to Enjoy Being Outside.
